Jen kim, GUEST ARTIST (SHE/ HER)

Jen was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. Staying true to her NC roots, she chose to attend the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in pursuit of a BFA in contemporary dance. During her time at UNCSA, she had the opportunity to work closely with notable choreographers such as Rena Butler, Darrel Grand Moultrie, Maleek Washington, Lauren Edson, Pascal Rioult, Jim Vincent, and Ashley Lindsey. The American Dance Festival, based in Durham, NC, has been formative in Jen’s dance journey as she attended several summer intensives hosted by the festival. During her summers with the program she had the honor of performing works by Kate Weare and Abdel R. Salaam as a part of the Footprints program. As Jen enters her first season with Houston Contemporary Dance Company, she is excited to continue growing as a dancer and artist.
